About Me

- Name: TracieB
- Location: warrior, Alabama, United States
I am a wife and mother of 3 year old twins. I also am no longer working on my Ph.D full time. It was hard to give that up since I was going on full scholarship. That may never happen again, but I know my kids will not be this age again! My husband is a Fire Leuitenant. We have been married for almost ten years.

Trans Siberian Orchestra
Last night I went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert. That has to be the most awesome Christmas concert I have ever seen. The music is incredible, though not like you would expect to hear typical Christmas Carols performed. They rocked out to everything from Joy to the World to O Holy Night. These musicians and vocalist are breath taking. Considering the volume and depth of the performance it is suprising that the group is made up of so few people. They have two pianist, who towards the end of the show, kind of played out a piano duo. It gave me goose bumps! I can't imagine playing like they did. You wonder how they got their fingers to move so fast and accurately. They finished their little ditty by both playing on one piano. It was wonderful! Their was also a vocalist that as they were doing introductions the guy introduced her as having a voice of angels. It didn't really make since, because she hadn't been showcased yet. But, when she was, it made much more sense. She was running back and forth across the stage (which made me exhausted just watching) while screaming these incredible notes that were beautiful! I had thought from the CD it was an instrument doing her part. I had no idea it was vocals. When you add this incredible musical performance with the the light show it becomes magical. At least two of your senses go into overload. There is so much going on visually, that it is hard to concentrate on the music and vice versa. This has to be the most impressive concert I have ever seen. I wonder how long it takes for the crew to get everything set up and then torn down. These guys are doing two shows per day and are in different cities every day from November 1st through the first week of January. They have to be exhausted.
Anyway, this was such a fun night!

Getting ready for Christmas
It has been so nice being back at home with the babies. Although, they aren't much of babies anymore. They are getting big so fast. Today we made the most adorable Christmas trees using their little hand prints. They were so good with the paint. They did exactly what I told them to do. They were so cute.
Then this afternoon we made candy. Although, I think they would have ate it faster than I could make it if I would have let them.
They are loving the Christmas lights. Last year they didn't really notice them. Half the time I don't even think they saw them. But this year is so different. They notice things I don't even see. They love all the Ho Hos and Frosties!
We haven't been able to put any presents under the tree. I had one under it and it was just too much torture for Matthew. He was so sweet, he just sat down by it. He would then pick it up and bring it to me and when I would tell him to go put it back, he would sweetly and gently go lay it back down and sit there by it. We did this for about half an hour and I just decide that it isn't worth it.

Finally...
That is true on so many levels. I am finally done with this semester! All ended well.
More importantly, a friend and her husband finally got to adopt a baby!!! It is a beautiful baby girl, and we are so excited for them. I can't wait for them to get home and us meet their precious baby! What a wonderful Christmas present.
