I am a wife and mother of 3 year old twins. I also am no longer working on my Ph.D full time. It was hard to give that up since I was going on full scholarship. That may never happen again, but I know my kids will not be this age again! My husband is a Fire Leuitenant. We have been married for almost ten years.

Funny baby video

Just found this, you will get a kick.

Dog House for Kobe

My dad has worked on Kobe's dog house for at least a month. This thing is big enough for Kobe and Greg. It is huge. Unfortunately, Kobe wants nothing to do with it. The kids on the other hand LOVE it.

How cute is this!!

Celine Dion

Her concert was so much fun! I got to go see her with my mom and sister. I am so glad that we all live so close that we are able to do things together.

Celine's opening was really good. This is a video that has been posted to You Tube from her concert in Kansas City.

Katie's 1st Haircut

I have to thank Heather for this adorable haircut. You guys should have seen it yesterday just after she had finished it. It was so cute! She put hair gel and used the blow dryer. Needless to say her curls weren't cut off. Bless her heart, she will be cursed with both her mommy's and daddy's curly messy hair.

Girlfriends

Tonight I had a moment to just spend some time with my girlfriends and all our babies. Six kids (would have been seven but one was with her Mimi and is about to be EIGHT in four weeks) running around makes it not the most relaxing place to be. But, the fact that they all had so much fun and all the mommies got to catch up just a little made it great. I wish that I could steal more time like this.

Lake Flooding

With all of the rain that came in Tuesday, the campsite that Greg's parents keep their camper on flooded. It is amazing the amount of water that is in the place. Everyone had already pulled their campers out so their wasn't any real damage done. It is probably just going to be messy to clean up any muddy spots.

This picture is a snapshot of where we have our dish hanging. It is maybe five feet off the ground.

This is a shot of where Tip and Jo's camper is usually parked. You can see the white tips of our fence just above the top of the water. The top of the fence comes waste high on me. I think they are actually three feet tall.

What is really sad is that during the middle of the summer, the water will go down so dramatically. The walk down to the water gets longer every day it seems like. This isn't the best picture, but you can kind of see where the water was on the 4th of July this past summer.

School starts tomorrow

I am so sad. School starts tomorrow. Where has this time gone? Oh well, if I don't go back, I will never finish!

Circus train

We took the kids yesterday to the McWane Center to see the train exhibit. Matthew is totally fascinated right now with trains. I really didn't think they would like very much at the McWane Center right now, but I was very wrong!!! They had a ball. I wish that we had allowed for more time to spend there.

The train exhibit was great! The guys who set these things up have to be very passionate about their hobby.

Enjoy the pictures.

New Title

Greg and I had the evening to ourselves. It isn't that this is such a rare occasion. We are blessed and have family that is more than ready and willing to keep the kids anytime we need a break. So, we had thought all day about what to do tonight. It ranged from movies to a nice dinner and so on. However, all we did was exchange light bulbs at Lowe's and ate at Stix. We were home by 9:30. On the way home I thought, "how sad." But, it occured to me, it isn't sad at all. WE are happy. We don't have to find a place to hang out until bedtime. We have a nice home. We are comfortable just hanging out with each other. Right now we are sitting here, Greg playing Call of Duty or World at War or some fighting game on XBox and I am here on the computer. It is nice just being comfortable with each other. It is times like this that I miss the kids being home. It fills like we are not complete when we are not all together. I really think this is a girl thing. Greg thinks I am crazy not to just sit back and enjoy the time. I feel like it is a waste of time. I do have to remind myself that I have to be just as dedicated if not more so to my marriage as I am my babies. This thought could lead to a whole new post.

This post is more for myself than anyone else. I get so caught up in running around doing a half million things at one time, that I forget so often how good I have it.

Quick not about guys games... I don't understand them. Way too much fighting, but they sure seem to enjoy it.

New Years 2009

We celebrated New Year's at my sister and her husband's house. It was very simple just 3 couples and Rock Band. I thought there was no way that we would (or I should say I would) make it until midnight. But, we started playing and got so caught up in it that we actually missed midnight! We had so much fun.

Potty training

Okay, so I am not the most patient person in the world. I think everyone knows that. Potty training is testing my patients more than anything with the kids have lately. I tried this whole thing about two months ago... maybe even longer than that. It took me 3 hours to give up. So, I am trying it again. I have decided to try and take the kids one at a time this time round. It does seem to be less stressfull for me this way. I am trying with Katie first. We have had a successful day so far. She finally peed in the potty around 11:00 this morning. She was so proud and so was I. She had told me to leave the room. I guess she had stage fright. I had went outside for a second and heard her come screaming down the hall at Greg that she had Pee peed. I thought, either this is great or I have a mess to clean up somewhere. Good news! She actually peed in the potty. We have had one more successfull trip this afternoon. And no wet undies so far. We went and got milkshakes as a prize.

Oh, it would be so nice to have at least one out of diapers. But, I don't think it is happening anytime soon.

Christmas 2008

We had so much fun this Christmas! I though last year that the kids really knew what was going on. Boy was I wrong. This year they were soooo in to it. They could spot a blow up Frosty or Ho Ho from miles away. They also spotted every "Baby Jesus" out there. We would be walking through the store and they would be screaming "Baby Jesus, Baby Jesus" to the top of their lungs. People around us had to either think, "how cute" or that we are religious fanatics. Either way, I don't care, I thought it was sweet.

The kids got so man y new toys. Everything that grandparents bought, stayed at grandparents' houses. There was no way we could have brought everything home.

I was really sad after Christmas was over, but now that the tree is down and it is New Year's I am really ready for things to calm down and get back to normal.

Here are some pictures from our family get togethers. Hope you enjoy.
